“Our goal is to give a mom help so she can keep her baby.”
Nick Silverio, founder of “A Safe Haven for Newborns,” says his organization does that in many ways, including a helpline.

He also aims to educate Floridians about the state’s Safe Haven law, which allows for newborns to be dropped off at hospitals or fire stations, no questions asked.
Nick wants students to know that they can help his organization and earn their community service hours.
“We designed five projects that the students may select from, which will ensure accountability for the hours earned and project completion.”
Students can create a Safe Haven awareness video, social media campaign or other projects through an app on their cell phones.
It’s available on the Apple App and Google Play stores.
