Walk Pics - kids

WOW………What a great fun filled family day we all experienced on March 14th, 2015 at our 2nd annual 5K Walk for A Safe Haven for Newborns. Our Grand Marshall was Hialeah Fire Chief Mike Enchia with over 200 supporters participating in the Walk vowing to “be back” next year.

In addition to the 5K Walk there was something for everyone…Hialeah Fire Truck had interactive games for the kids, a bounce house, face painting, bubble machine, a talented magician, Tai Chi lessons and of course plenty of food cooked on the Barbie and refreshments.

It was very special to see everyone: The walkers, volunteers(many were high school & college students), Hialeah Fire Fighters, the Safe Haven committee team and our wonderful sponsors interacting, taking photos ,expressing their support for our mission to save the lives of the most innocent and helpless among us, newborns.

To create statewide awareness, our ultimate plan is to have the Walk on the same day in all 67 Florida counties. This year walkers from the city of Bradenton in Manatee county participated on the same day and had a great time as well.

Senator Rene Garcia sponsored a Senate resolution proclaiming the month of March, 2015 “Safe Haven for Newborns” month in Florida.. We were very thankful to Miami-Dade County Commissioner Esteban Bovo for attending our Walk and presenting the Resolution to us. Senator Garcia was committed to participating in the 2015 state legislative sessions in Tallahassee.

I also want to share some very, very, very special news with you… Babies Lara, Torri, Joel, Natty and Aleksey were born this year, giving them a chance for a future.….. to date 222 precious newborns are now living in loving homes with their adoptive parents, reaching for the world. We are dedicated to eliminating the ultimate in infant abuse, abandonment and WE WILL.

A Safe Haven for Newborns is able to do what we do because of our many caring, compassionate volunteers, supporters and sponsors.
